The Disability Innovation Institute at UNSW (DIIU) is in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced and continue to experience racism in Australia. In particular, we acknowledge the fact that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disability suffer disproportionately from the direct and systemic effects of racism, in the criminal justice system, education, employment and other areas of life.

We hope that our work will continue to contribute to justice for all people with disability, and offer our support to colleagues in the First Peoples Disability Network, in disability research and across the disability sector.
