Apply for 2027 Seed Funding

Two grants of $20,000 are available for research projects that strengthen inclusive and interdisciplinary disability research at UNSW and that have potential to contribute to a better quality of life for people with disability.

The purpose of the Seed Funding is to establish or advance inclusive and interdisciplinary research between UNSW academic researchers, people with disability, government, industry, and community. The funded research should result in at least one output in the form of a publication, report, or application for external funding. 

Eligibility criteria: 

  • Academic staff actively engaged in research or creative practice with a full-time or fractional appointment (no less than 0.4 FTE) are eligible to apply;
  • Applicants must be or have applied to be Associates of the Institute;
  • Involvement of an Early Career Researcher in the research team is highly encouraged.

If you are not an Associate, you will need to apply to be eligible for this funding. Information about the Associates program and the sign up form are available for download here.

Announcement: Successful applicants will be informed via email in late December 2026 for Seed Funding Grants to commence from February 2027.
